Snarky Puppy – GroundUp Music

February 4th, 2015

Snarky Puppy is truly a different kind of musical animal. The New York-based quasi-collective have leapt from being an underground secret to international fame in a very short time. 2014 got off to a winning start for the group; they took their first Grammy Award, releasing a new album We Like It Here and performing all over the world in front of massive crowds at prestigious venues and festivals.

The group is led by award-winning bassist/guitarist/composer/arranger Michael League and with a deep knowledge and respect for the tradition, their music ranges from raw funk and soul through to lyrical melodies and lush harmonies, and their live shows are unparalleled in energy, virtuosity, and sheer musicianship.

After recording We Like It Here in The Netherlands, the group decided to record another album/dvd, this time with the Metropole Orkest, which resulted in the epic and prolific album Sylva, released on the legendary label Impulse! Records.

On April 30 and May 1 Good Music Company and Motel Mozaique will have the honor of bringing you the release of this album with two amazing back-to-back nights at the infamous Grand Auditorium of the Rotterdamse Schouwburg.
