We are kicking off the festivities on April 22nd, when the School of Cinematic Arts complex will be taken over and transformed by Rhythms and Visions: Expanded and Live!, a spectacular live-cinema event that will bring together students and faculty from across campus to experience the experimental merging of live acoustic and electronic music with animation and visual media. Guests will encounter giant 3D stereoscopic projections covering the walls of the SCA buildings. Performances will include D-Fuse, a London-based audiovisual art collective who create live sonic cinema for artists such as Beck, the Rolling Stones and Steve Reich – also Scott Pagano, whose multi-screen performances have toured the US, Europe, and Asia.
After the performances there will be a panel with presenting artists so that the audience can ask performers about their process and technique.
The following day on Saturday April 23rd, the weekend of exploration of Visual Music continues with a day of Workshops with D-Fuse and members of the Los Angeles Association of Visual Artists. Learn about Visual Music, the best VJ software, and more. To register please email email@example.com. List of Confirmed workshops will be coming soon!
