video - student scoring sessions what's new

Live internet video stream for USC session at Warner Bros.

April 27th, 2011

The music featured in this post was composed by SMPTV student, Vidjay Beerepoot. He invited his friends in Holland to view the event and they, in turn, captured the live stream over the internet on their laptop. As such, the video quality is compromised, including several video drop-outs from the actual video capture software, but, for the most part, the audio sounds great. The video in this post is the actual video they viewed from their apartment in Holland. Here are a few photos sent from Holland;

Here’s a copy of the email I sent to everyone last Friday, announcing the event;
Hello everyone,
I know this is short notice but I just got the equipment in place and it looks like it’s going to work – on Saturday, 4/23, we’re streaming our scoring session live from Warner Bros. Eastwood Stage.
This event features original works by the current USC SMPTV class of composers, as performed by members of the Professional Musicians Union local 47. The 63 piece orchestra is contracted by DeCrescent & Rotter, to be mixed by Bob Fernandez and mentored by Joel McNeely. For the record, this is our first time attempting to stream a live session! The session starts at 10AM and, if all goes well, we will finish by 5PM PST. There’s a lunch break from 1 – 2PM.

I hope you’ll have a chance to take a look and listen.
